Welcome to our 33rd edition of Velasco Chronicle & Buzz.
By April, Spring has finally sprung, and if we’re lucky, the start of warmer beautiful weather. We hope that your sky is bright and clear and your grass is growing green. April is the fourth month of the year and
so much to look forward to as the days are longer and the countdown to summer begins. This month is right about the time when the Easter bunny will make an appearance, a great month for meteor showers, and the perfect time to start planning for the summer..
The true meaning of Easter goes beyond bunnies and eggs and fresh Spring flowers. Easter is celebrated as a joyous occasion and the Sunday prior is called Palm Sunday which marks the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem. This year Easter Sunday falls on April 17th. Various churches begin the celebration in the late hours of Saturday through a religious service called Easter Vigil. Non–religious celebrations include the tradition of Easter eggs, which represent fertility and birth and a visit from the Easter bunny which delivers chocolates and sweets to kids on Sunday morning.
April is also a great month to catch meteor showers. Sky watchers are in for a treat in April with the return of a meteor shower and a full “Pink” moon. The Lyrid meteor shower will peak on the night of Thursday, April 21 into the early hours of Friday, April 22. You can expect to see an average of 10 meteors per hour in dark, clear skies between midnight and dawn. Rarely, the Lyrids produce surges of up to 100 meteors per hour.
As plants begin to grow, and we are officially entered into Spring, flowers begin to bloom and shed those cool winter layers. April is also officially the month we celebrate Earth Day so remember take part in activities like picking up litter and planting trees, as we need to celebrate our Earth and continue to making our world a happier, healthier place to live.

San Francisco events in April 2022 include theater performances, sporting events, festivals, concerts and so much more. The flowers are blooming and the weather is cool, yet sunny. It's one of the best times to visit.

This month, enjoy several shows at SF's theaters. One of my favorite festivals, the Cherry Blossom Festival, is planned for the first part of the month.

$141M LA Mega Mansion Auction Sale Breaks World Record
It’s not often that paying $141M for a home is seen as getting a good deal. But for the buyer who snapped up an LA mega mansion at auction last week, it was.
The ultra-luxurious 105,000-sq-ft Bel Air home, more commonly known as “The One,” was originally listed for $295M. But it sold on Thursday for $126M plus closing costs and premiums, bringing the total price just over $141M.
|
Despite interest rates being on the rise the market continues to soar and we are seeing multiple offers on every listing.
Most recently two of our listings broke the record with the highest sale in the neighborhood.
131 Curry Avenue, Morgan Hill in Capriano that broke the highest record in sale price history for the neighborhood and selling $475K over asking price.
1870 Kickapoo Court, Morgan Hill sold for $3.3M also the highest to date in Coyote Creek Estates neighborhood.
